Caught Red Handed

Where does the story begin? Well, this morning Merrick decided it was time to rise and shine at 4:45AM. Poor, poor Mommy. Let me tell you a thing or two little man, when you are a teenager and you want to wake up at noon, maybe I'll decide it's time for YOU to rise and shine at 4:45AM and show you what it feels like (heh heh, evil Mommy)! :)

Merrick can get into a LOT of trouble in the early morning hours - this is him pre-trouble; "looks cute" you may say, "how much trouble could he possibly cause"...but don't let looks deceive you:

The perpetrator: one Merrick D. R. Radley; 29.5" tall, 18.5 lbs, irresistably cute but DO NOT let him fool you - he's armed with a mean grasp and his cuteness is dangerous.

The crime...oh I've got him on several things, and I'm certain the list will grow through the years. But here are some shots of him in action....

1) Playing with his food:

2) Getting into EVERYTHING:

3) Getting my windows dirty!

And the biggest - yes, I'm on to you and I've finally caught it on camera - trying to give me the scare of my life with your little climbing stunts. Check him out in action:

Happy Birthday Willow!

Sunday (March 16) was Willow's 3rd Birthday. She's growing up so fast! Saturday evening was her birthday celebration, and Merrick had such a great time! It was actually hot that day, which made for great back yard fun for all the kiddies! Teri & David's playland - I mean kids paradise - I mean house - was full of everything from swimming to trampoline to swingset, and the hit of the party was the water balloon fight!

Willow's theme was princesses, and Grammie did a great job making her cakes. Yes, cakeSSSS! Aunt Teri tried to give Merrick a little first taste of the cake and Mommy had to ruin it by sabotaging the attempt. No taste of cake until you turn 1 Merrick! Happy Birthday Willow!

The Laugh We Love to Hear

Our poor little guy has been sick this week. He's had a fever the last few days, and when we first discovered he was sick - since he's never had a fever before - Craig and I were about to hail an entire fleet of ambulances! After realizing it would be in our best interests to remain calm, we dialed the after-hours pediatrician who walked us through what we needed to do. Pretty basic really! We took him to the doctor on Tuesday, and they think it's just a virus that needs to run its course. I'm sure we'll be seeing a few more fevers in the days ahead! We've discovered that all those old-school remedies like steamy showers and vaporizers really do work wonders.

I hate to say this, but one of the good things about him being sick was that he just wanted to lay in my lap all day. He hasn't done that since he was tiny, and it was so nice. Anyway, to take our mind off the sicky sickness - I thought I'd share a video of him laughing. He thinks Mommy is quite the comedienne. Geesh, glad someone does!! It's amazing the things we'll do to get him to laugh...and he's such a happy baby that it doesn't take much:

Sea Legs

This weekend we went on Uncle David's boat - the first time on a boat for Merrick! We had a great time and it was a beautiful, sunny day. We were cruising along in the Intracoastal, and stopped on our own little private beach to play for a while. Merrick absolutely loved playing in the water. Later that night he got to hang out with Grammie and Grandpa for some quality spoil time! Check out our slideshow below:

Bye-Bye Eliza!

Last week Dave, Adrienne and Eliza stopped at our house overnight on their way out to North Carolina, where they are moving. We are very happy for them and their new adventures (although a little jealous too!). Here are Merrick and Eliza - of course it's an impossible feat to get two kids under the age of 5 to simultaneously smile and look at the camera - so here's the best we could offer! We were also quite entertained by Eliza! As you can see, she is well on her way to becoming a rock star - just like her daddy!:
Can't wait to see you guys once you get settled!
